Hello from Cape Town
We have come to realize the full effects of this virus, as I am sure many of you have. It is a tragic time but also incredible to see how we all come together in such trying times.
It is a daunting time for any business, business owner, family, employee and the list just goes on. My biggest realization these past weeks has been that we were all affected, which yes, makes it all the scarier. On a positive note, we have never seen more people working together than in the past few weeks. Working together will become more important as we try to get over the effects of the COVID-19 virus.
We have gone into, what we like to say “hibernation” at this time, and I see we are not alone. Cape Town has slowly but surely limited interactions between its residence. By announcing a 21-day lockdown, South Africa is doing its best to get ahead of COVID-19 so we can bounce back as soon as possible.
Having to “wait it out” for now, has made us reorganize, relook and reflect on what is most important for a small business’s growth moving forward. Along with our team, we will be doing our very best to bounce back and keep providing the best food tours in Cape Town.
I must say this “cleaning” out in the office, in my house and in my mind has made me realize even more, how much I need the people I work with and our visitors who are as passionate about South Africa as we are.
I would like to take this time to thank our restaurants and team, without them we would not have had this incredible journey so far. Thank you for believing in us as we do in you.
